It was full of laughter, personality and seriously good energy. Aoife, born and bred in Dublin city, and Edward, originally from the UK, share a sharp sense of humour and a love of doing things their own way – something reflected perfectly by their crowd of young, creative and alternative friends.  Aoife and Edward’s day felt relaxed, fun and effortlessly cool from start to finish.

The Ceremony: The Irish Soul Celebrant

Bonnie is known for moving away from stiff traditional ceremonies. She brings what she calls “deadly Craic” to legal solemnising. Her ceremonies are highly personalised, often incorporating rituals like handfasting. As a legal solemniser with Entheos Ireland, she can perform the full legal marriage, but does so with the flair of a professional storyteller and performer.
 

The Drinks Reception: Cabaret & Dance

Once the “I dos” were done, we moved to Orlagh House, a private Georgian mansion built in 1790. Nestled on 50 acres in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, the estate feels worlds away from the urban busy streets, despite being located just 25 minutes from the city centre and the airport. Because of its exclusive-use policy, the venue offers a “country house party” atmosphere rather than a traditional hotel vibe. From the gardens, we were met with panoramic, uninterrupted views stretching across Dublin City to Howth Head and the Irish Sea.
The energy shifted instantly during the drinks reception; guests who had just witnessed Bonnie’s heartfelt ceremony were treated to a high-energy performance featuring her hilarious “Granny Boux” character. It was the perfect, unexpected spark to kick off the party atmosphere before dinner.
